about Jim Barbour & Fiona Barbour

Jim Barbour and his daughter, Fiona, have been partners in Barbour Wines since its inception.  Fiona was two years old when Jim planted the family’s vineyard and has grown with it ever since.  As a child, she sat in Jim’s lap as he drove the tractor and was there during the early morning hours of harvest, even if it meant missing a few hours of school.  Her job was to pick stray leaves out of grape bins, which she didn’t mind except for the spiders. 2009 is the first harvest Fiona missed – she just started her freshman year at Fairfield University where she’s studying creative writing.

about Heidi Barrett, winemaker

Heidi Peterson Barrett grew up in the Napa Valley in a winemaking family and was destined to become one of the world’s foremost winemakers.  Several of her wines, including Dalla Valle Vineyards and Screaming Eagle, have received perfect 100 scores from Robert Parker who proclaimed her “The First Lady of Wine”.  In addition to Barbour Vineyards, she also creates wines for her own label La Sirena, Amuse Bouche, Au Sommet, Lamborn, Kenzo and Revana Family.  Past clients include Grace Family, Vineyard 29, and David Arthur.  Heidi lives in Calistoga with her husband Bo, winemaker at Chateau Montelena, and their two daughters.
