tasting note

harvested by-hand on october 6 and 9 from grapes grown in our two saint helena vineyards.  2023 barbour cabernet sauvignon is dense and savory with fruit notes of black cherry and boysenberry and holiday baking spices.  the 2023 vintage shows great balance and verges on opulent but without unnecessary weight.  it is full-bodied with ripe velvety tannins and elegant from the approach through to its lengthy finish.  in its youth, enjoy 2023 barbour cabernet sauvignon following a brief decant.  the vintage will continue to evolve for 25+ years.

 
technical note

the fruit was destemmed and sorted, fermented on its skins for approximately three weeks prior to a gentle pressing and aged for 22 months in 65% new french oak.  it was bottled without fining or filtration in july, 2025.
