2014 Barbour Cabernet Sauvignon displays intense aromas of dark plum, cassis, baked black cherry, toasted graham cracker and pipe tobacco. Blue and purple-toned fruits dominate, offering a consistent texture throughout the mid palate.
Harvested by hand on September 16 and 23, 2014, this wine hails from Jim's dry-farmed vineyard on the western benchlands of St. Helena. Cluster selection both in the vineyard and winery was exacting. The fruit was destemmed and sorted, then fermented on its skins for approximately three weeks prior to gently pressing.
Aged in French Oak barrels for 22 months, the wine shows the body, breadth of palate, and clarity of fruit expression at finish to ensure age-worthiness, yet an elegant, congenial tannin structure to enjoy at release.
The wine was bottled without fining or filtration on July 12, 2016.
